S'No Queen Sharon Bentwood talks thermals with Winternational

Tamsin Burford met with Sharon Bentwood of S'No Queen earlier on this year and couldn't resist adding this lovely line of thermals to the Winternational collection.

Tamsin says "I loved the styles so much and Sharon's message even more. Of course I want my thermals to be as nice as the rest of my ski wear. And that everything is made here in the UK is even better. Sharon and I get on so well, in fact half our time was spent chattering rather than working and I'm looking forward to showing you all more and more of these wonderful, useful thermals. I use them here too as a top to throw on over my gym gear and then I find they are so pretty and cosy, I want to stay in them all day!"

Sharon on...Staying Warm & Stylish

Take on board everyone is different and every day is different, your body,  the weather, your age and your cycle affect the way you feel .

You do not wake up each morning and put on the same clothes in your everyday life so when on the slopes its exactly the same.

Consequently make sure you have a good mix of base layers, including a polo neck for when the snow falls and a vest for when the sun shines.

Layering is key. You can always take a layer off! You can always add a layer!!

You must start the day with a real breakfast full of slow-release carbs. If it's an absolute white-out head straight for a hot chocolate with a couple of shots that will keep you warm. Actually shots probably aren't exactly nutritional advice but hey, you're on holiday. Here I am wearing a Goldbergh Phoenix one piece ski suit and as it's freezing, I've put an old SOS jacket on top. Underneath are my own S'No Queen pieces, of course!

Sharon on...Starting S'No Queen

We started S'No Queen 5 years ago. Essentially because my friends and I were fed up of taking off fabulous ski jackets in super restaurants and sitting there in boring high street thermals or highly technical unflattering pieces.

So I started to customise and to create 'thermals you want to be seen in' combining style & practicality, and fashion led thermal was created.

Sharon's favourite ski resort (this picture gives it away!)

Courchevel 1850…I am very partial to ski-in, ski-out and this resort offers that from many different hotels. Here I am wearing Goldbergh Paris ski pants.

I really intend to go to the States to ski as soon as possible especially now S'No Queen is going to be stocked in Aspen & Vale!

Sharon's Inspiration is...

My inspiration comes from a combination of the cat walk and my love for the outdoors.

I particularly enjoy mixing colours and prints and my favourite time of the season is when I sit down to start the new collection with the design team.

Sharon on...relaxing on holiday and what it means to her now

Once upon a time I would go straight  through and dance the night away. However now, after a meander through the shops I am very partial to a glass of wine or two and storytelling of the days fun with my family or with my specially chosen friends….. must admit sometimes the hot tub beckons! Here I am posing with the girls in my gorgeous Goldbergh Phoenix ski suit.
