What is a fleece mid layer?
A fleece mid layer is a warm, breathable layer you wear between your base layer and your ski jacket. It traps body heat while letting moisture escape. The Peak Performance Light Zip Hood is a midweight stretch fleece that works as a ski mid layer and as a jacket on its own on mild days.

How warm is a 210 gsm fleece?
210 gsm is a midweight fleece, warm enough to make a real difference. On its own, it’s comfortable for autumn and spring walks, cool summer evenings in the mountains and travel.

Will the Light Zip fit under my ski jacket?
Yes. It’s a regular fit and it slides easily under most ski jackets. 

Is off white a practical colour for a fleece?
More than you’d think. It washes at 40°C, so it’s easy to keep fresh and dries fast! It’s a lighter, cleaner alternative to the usual black or navy fleece. Off white looks good with black, navy, camel and khaki, and it brightens up photos in the snow.

Fleece or down gilet: which mid layer should I choose?
A fleece like the Light Zip is breathable and better for active skiing, hiking and high output days. A down gilet, such as the Peak Performance Frost Down Gilet, is warmer for its weight and better for cold, slow days and après. Many skiers take both.

Can I wear the Light Zip all year?
Yes. Peak Performance designed it for year round use: a ski mid layer in winter, a light jacket for spring and autumn walks, and an extra layer for summer evenings or travel.

What does “made without intentionally added PFAS” mean?
PFAS are a group of chemicals once widely used in outdoor clothing for water and stain resistance. They break down very slowly in the environment. Peak Performance makes the Light Zip without deliberately adding them.

How does the Light Zip fit?

How do I wash a fleece?
Turn it inside out, close the zips and wash at 40°C with similar colours. Don’t use fabric softener, as it clogs the fibres and reduces warmth and breathability. Tumble dry on low or line dry in the shade.
